I'm looking to get my proper screen resolution on my laptop, it should be 1366x768, but I'm only offered 1024x768 or 800x600.
This is a full installation from pendrive - how should I go about changing it, please?

Do you mean with full install to the system itself or into a virtual client? Have you tested with the live boot stick, which resolution is detected and used?
In the live boot you have an icon which lists your system hardware, there you can see which video/graphic card your system have and search the web if for this video card FreeBsd has a propper driver. Limit to 1024 sounds that only a vesa driver is loaded at the moment.

The .iso file image written to pendrive, & then installed to HDD.

just an idea,
open a terminal and run "pciconf -lv" and look for your the class display to detect which graphic adapter is build in your system. With this info go to https://www.freebsd.org/doc/ and look to X11 config or search the web which driver best fits your card.

Unfortunately, replacing the driver didn't work for me, & only having a working OS using the vesa driver doesn't hack it for me, so I will return to using Linux or OpenBSD, which do work & give me the correct resolution.
This looks to be a nice OS, but still needs some work, it seems - all the best, (for now).
